This proposal is situated in a semi-rural context near to  a major national road. The design brief was to draw inspiration from an agricultural narrative. The structure consists of a steel frame with brickwork infill, with a large single lantern-formed roof stretching over the smaller internal retail spaces. This, along with the large arched windows and high ceilings, links the building to the barn-style which is vernacular to the community.
